My client is looking for a specialist freelancer to help us clean up a few architectural models. There are 3 models in total, but currently we only have our hands on the first one. We expect each model to take 3–5 days, and would like to get started with the first one as soon as possible.
Whereby you are a skilled 3D Architectural Model Optimisation Specialist to support on a project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in optimising 3D models for performance–critical environments. You will be responsible for transforming high–resolution 3D architectural models into extremely low–poly, lightweight versions with baked textures and extremely low–resolution textures. This work will be crucial to ensure smooth performance and fast load times in web–based environments without compromising the visual quality of the models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimise 3D Architectural Models: Reduce the polygon count of 3D architectural models to create extremely low–poly versions, while maintaining the essential structure and appearance of the models.
- Bake Textures: Generate baked textures from high–resolution models, ensuring that the low–poly models retain realistic lighting, shadows, and material details.
- Create Low–Resolution Textures: Develop extremely low–resolution textures that are lightweight and load quickly, while ensuring that they effectively convey the intended visual details.
- Performance Optimisation: Ensure that the optimised models are lightweight, with a target load of 20mb incl. textures
- Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to integrate optimised models into applications, providing support and adjustments as necessary.
